SILVER STAR ROUND 3 – KEMBLE TARGA

It was VERY close at the front.

Reigning BTRDA Autosolo Champion Neil Jones (with Aled Jones) in his MX5 took the overall win by one second from Robert and Andy Fields in their MR2. James Griffiths/Matt Venables were a further second back.

Past BTRDA Autosolo Champion Steve Conner was navigating for Ben Griffin, in Steve’s MX5. They had been leading, but a missed Control cost them. They were their own competition when they swapped seats, with Ben driving his 106 and Steve navigating. Steve lost more time later on when he lost his power steering due to a leaking pipe.

Across the classes, Alan Wakeman had self admitted novice navigator Charlotte Prince sitting with him in his Micra. Alan then navigated for Charlotte’s partner, Callum Lambourn, to win the Clubman event in Callum’s Clio. Alan and Charlotte took the class win from Andrew and Grace Lees in their Nova.

Simon Phillips and Thomas Horst took maximum points in the Semi Expert over 1400 class.
