BTRDA to launch a new Championship for 2021

Posted on 28th November 2020

The BTRDA will be running a Targa Road Rally Championship in 2021 specifically aimed at Clubmen. The Championship will support the continuing development of Newcomers and Young Drivers/Navigators, plus attract those who want to compete in a wider range of other disciplines. The focus of the BTRDA Targa Championship for 2021 is at the smoother, simpler end of the scale, with contenders also likely to use their cars on a variety of disciplines such as AutoSOLOs, Autotests, Trials, Rallycross, Sprints, Hillclimbs, Autocross, etc. and will be a counting discipline for the BTRDA Allrounders Championship.

While Championship events are still being finalised, qualifying events will be spread around the country, enabling a wide geography to be covered. Some areas are not covered due to the current absence of smoother local Targas, but it is hoped that this situation will change and the Championship can expand in the future.

At this time things are very much “work in progress”, and the attached draft regulations are for guidance only, however we hope to have a full Targa Road Rally section added to the website by January when full details will be available.  In the meantime any enquiries should go to Alan Wakeman – .

BTRDA AutoSOLO championship points

Posted in AutoSolo on 3rd November 2020

As I am sure you are aware by now, due to the new Covid restrictions, Accrington Motor Club have understandably decided to cancel their event on the 6th Dec, so the Committee have declared the Championship complete after 7 rounds, rather than the 10 we had hoped for.  I have attached a copy of the Provisional Final Scores for your information and awards will be presented as per the Championship regulations, with the amendment that to qualify for a class award competitors must have competed in a minimum of 3 events, rather than 4 as less than 10 events have taken place. A list of award winners will be published once the Scores become Final.

Our thanks to all Competitors and the organizing Clubs for supporting the Championship under difficult circumstances this year and we hope that 2021 will prove to be a less fraught season for all.
