Jacobean

Event Report

Ian Veale wins closely fought trial, but son Josh stars….

The Jacobean, the last round before the summer break, was run in very dry conditions.  Clerk of Course Thomas Bricknell laid out some fine hills on this popular site and tyre pressures changed at lunchtime proved to work.

After 30 sections Ian Veale won by a single point from Ian Bell who had led at lunchtime.  Dave Rance finished third overall another mark adrift.  Josh Veale, son of event winner Ian, had a superb day in his Sherpa to win the novice class and finish an outstanding eighth overall in a high class field of almost forty from Tom Stevenson (Kincraft) in twelfth.  In eleventh place Jerome Fack (SRB) won the Intermediate class from George Watson (CAP) in sixteenth.
