Dave Oliver continued his domination of car trials to win the Wye Valley trial for the first time on Sunday, finishing clear of former winner and arch-rival Steve Courts. Neil Mackay lead the front wheel drive class until differential failure, where Les Andrew finished six points clear of Barrie Parker. Andy Baverstock won the new car class producing some brilliant climbs in very hot conditions. Nigel Green won the modified class in his Escort. The Imperfects (Oliver, Courts and Nigel Weeks) won the inter-association team trophy for the West Midlands ahead of the South West.
