John Moffatt took the lead of the British Car Trials championship by winning the Gaby Mohr trial at the penultimate round with an emphatic win in his Nova. Dave Oliver again had a great day in dry Shropshire to win his class. Duncan Stephens broke his diff just after lunch but a swift change resulted in third overall ahead of John Ludford who won the kit car class. Nick Pollitt won the new car class despite Barrie Parker's afternoon comeback.
