Over the last few years the meteoric rise of Historic trials has seen the number of older generations cars brush off the rust and dust and get back out onto the muddy hills of the UK………..which is exactly where they should be.
This has been wonderful to see and a clear crossovers has developed between modern Sporting Trials and Historic Trials, especially the Post Historic cars, with cars and competitors competing within both formulas. With the number of cars coming back out of the sheds increasing, the BTRDA Sporting Trials committee is keen to encourage more Post Historic cars to participate in its championship events. Increasingly we are seeing events that welcome, and offer an enjoyable challenge to both modern formula and the post historic cars.
Over the last couple of years we have seen a number of drivers and cars transition into events on the BTRDA competition calendar enjoying the challenge of these events and enjoying some great success to. Over the coming year the committee will be looking in to ways to make trials more suitable and enjoyable for Post Historic car and are even looking into a Post Historic Class in the Gold Star Championship Final.
For the 2020 championship calendar we would love to welcome more Post Historic cars along to events to hopefully enjoy a wider range and different challenge of event. Registration for the championship is only £15 to BTRDA members, and would make you eligible for our live axel championship which has been well supported and increasingly popular since its introduction a couple of years ago. Nearly all events in BTRDA calendar have specific post-historic classes which allows fair and friendly competition to drivers with similar equipment.
