Tulleys Farm Sporting Trial

Event Report

A good gang of hardy guys set out this year’s Tulleys Trial after what seemed weeks of rain. Surprisingly, grip levels were fine with tyre pressures set at 3 psi all day. Twenty-Six entries of which approx. half were BTRDA and the other half 750 MC got under way for the first of three rounds.

Ian Veale who is currently in fine form, tied with Josh and John Fack on round one with two points lost whilst our venue host Stuart Beare was cursing a stall that cost him a three to be added to the little tiny one that he had dropped, OOPS.

Ian Veale takes the Tulleys Farm win in the woods.

Round two saw little change to the hills and grip levels up a little with Stuart on ZERO and Ian on one and a flurry of twos. Meanwhile, Sam Beare was quietly dominating the Live axle class with a round one score of four and five on round two and showing some of the top boys in the independent cars how to do it

In the rookie class John Firth was also showing what a great trials driver he is and on a fab score of just 18 at lunch…wow! In the 750 class Phil Haines was having a great day on an equally paltry 11 at lunch.

The rest of the crowd with me including were not having it so easy and all finding the grip hard to find, although James Tickle had a great round two to make him a little happier.

As ever it’s great to see and to mix with all the 750 guys and see many new faces all giving it their best, but the toll was hard especially if sharing a car.
After lunch and some small alterations to the hills, we had a raft of zeros from the top guys, and John Cole on just 2, but Ann did say he missed a few hills out (only kidding John). So, another worthy win for Ian Veale on just 3 and Stuart on 4 and a charging Jerome on 6, Josh on 7 and the rest thereabouts.

Clearly the amount of practice that the Stuart and Sam get in on the site showed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! without doubt, or did they both outdrive me completely? Whatever, I am not bitter or twisted at all.
