Peter and Liz Fensom had a perfect day on Bank Holiday Monday at the Raymond Bacter sporting trial clearing all twenty eight hills beating BTRDA Chairman Stuart Beare by a point who slipped up after lunch with a careless one proving costly. Conditions proved much easier in the steep wooded riverside venue than the previous day. Richard Sharp upheld local honours completing the podium having dropped two ones before lunch. Bryan Walker dropped a huge eight points on the first round but managed to salvage sixth and win the Hepplewhite trophy for the best score over the two days. Bob Packham won the live axle intermediate class in seventh just ahead of top rookie Chris Hodgson. Mike Salton won the clubman class in tenth with John Cole best intermediate independent car driver just outside the top ten overall. The previous days winner Barry Hogg found the conditions more challenging culminating in breaking the car with two hills to go.

Bryan Walker won the coveted NPTCC Two Day Hepplewhite trophy by three points from Richard Sharp, last years victor over sixty hills with Stuart Beare third.
