Julian Fack won the Pete Fear Sporting trial from Ian Veale on a rainy day in Ross. Torrential rain greeted the runners and riders to the 2018 Pete Fear Pinford which thankfully subsided just as the event started, to leaving the venue in ideal condition for the days event. Julian Fack made the most of the morning conditions to open up a slender early lead from brother Jermone, who was also finding the conditions to his liking early on. As more rain fell in the afternoon Julian retained his position at the top of the field with Ian Veale recovering from a poor 1st round to make his way up to 2nd but left himself too much to do to catch Julian, finishing up 5 points adrift. Jerome was a little unfortunate in the afternoon to slip back to 4th, with the rain causing havoc on some of his late sections. Local man and site founder Alistair Moffat sneaked into 3rd on a tie break, and with it winning the blue class with Stuart Beare driving well to sneak 5th from Pete Fensom.
Andy Wilks won best club member in 7th overall with Sam Beare taking the Novice class win comfortably in an excellent 12th overall. Darren Underwood won the Clubmans event again driving well and would have finished well up the order in the national classes.
