Barrie Parker won the event, and with it the Gold Star Championship. A brilliant year for a brilliant driver in a different car. It was his first Gold Star in a rear wheel drive car.
Rupert North confirmed his steady improvement over the past few years to land the Silver Star title. Bill Moffatt recovered from his historic rally debut the day before to snatch the runner up spot from the ever smiling Dave Harvey.
John Moffatt made a successful debut season even more enjoyable by winning the Bronze Star championship in his Nova. Dave Walker repeated his 2010 success by finishing in second place, having had to contend with champion elect Parker throughout the season in the unballasted class.
Duncan Stephens entered his Melos in the final to put sustained pressure on Dave Oliver for the Jack Williams trophy, but the pressure was resisted – just – and Oliver lost five fewer marks on the day and seven fewer through the year.
