Wyre Forest Trial

Event Report

Nick Pollitt totally dominated his class to win his first car trial for twelve years in his step son's Saxo VTR, and becoming the first person to ever win overall from the new car class. Pollitt mastered the early damp conditions that became dry and then extremely slippery late in the afternoon with a shower of rain. Duncan Stephens continued his good results to win the class following a day long battle with Rupert North that went down to the last two hills in the rain to win by just five points. Steve Courts produced a couple of great climbs during the day that just stopped Dave Oliver winning the class. John Ludford slowly opened out a large class lead in the highly modified class to finish sixth overall.

1 Nick Pollitt (Citroen Saxo VTR) 64.9%; 2 Duncan Stephens (Vauxhall Nova) 83.8%; 3 Steve Courts (Hillman Imp) 87.2%; 4 Rupert North (Rover Mini) 88.9%; 5 Dave Oliver (Hillman Imp) 93.0% 6 John Ludford (Marlin) 93.9%; 7 Simon Harris (VW Golf GTI) 97.9%; 8 Neil Mackay (Citroen AX GT) 106.1%; 9 Les Andrew (Peugeot 104ZR) 123.2%; 10 Nigel Weeks (Hillman Imp) 124.2%
