Wyre Forest Trial
Event Report
Mike Stephens competed at the Wyre Forest Car Trial for the first time in five years and won overall, becoming the sixth different winner of the season in a large entry of forty two competitors. Stephens won the trial for the first time back in 1977 and had won six times previously at the venue. Borrowing son Duncan's classic trials Melos, Mike dominated his class and lead all day to everyone's delight, having spent the five years marshalling and advising competitors how to drive!
Dave Oliver threw the event away after lunch, understeering into a four post to finish second overall, ahead of John Moffatt. John once again had a daylong battle with Duncan Stephens, who dropped a costly five on his second hill and they finished just two points apart. Nick Pollitt once again had an inspired day in the new car class, finishing fifth overall.
