Wye Valley Trial

Event Report

Brian Roberts won the Wye Valley car trial, becoming the seventh different winner of the year in seven rounds and taking his maiden national level overall win.

He shared the car with his brother in law Kevin who finished just six points behind to take second overall. Steve Courts was expected to challenge but finished a distant third overall on the steep hills that dried during the day. Philip Buckle again won the front wheel drive class to claim fourth, just ahead of reigning champion Mark Hoppe who extended his current championship lead. Returnee Garry Preston finished an encouraging third in class in his diesel Uno, similar to his championship winning car of over a decade ago.
