Barrie Parker won the Warwickshire car trial at Burton Dasset in extremely dry conditions. The club managed to set plenty of challenges which saw Parker win for the second time this year in totally contrasting conditions to last time and extend his msa championship lead. Reigning champion Henry Kitching finished second overall having only won the last on the last round from Trevor Moffatt in a similar Corsa. Ray Jacobs won the front wheel drive class in fourth overall. Last year’s winner Dick Glossop finished second in class by a point from Mark Hoppe on seventh overall. All the class places were extremely closely battled over with every point counting.

We stay in the Midlands for our first May trial, and we always look forward to visiting the Country Park at Burton Dassett, near Gaydon, off J12 of the M40. This site has gradients to suit all weathers, but if it is dry you can be assured we will be attempting some rather steep sections! And again, for newcomers to the venue, you can expect to see spectators marvelling at our quirky sport. And then there is the ice cream van and the brick built toilet block – no connection, we would add.
