Dave Oliver won the Warwickshire Car Trial for the sixth consecutive year, clearly winning from Nick Pollitt. Both Pollitt and Oliver had brilliant days ending up dominant class winners in slippery conditions at Burton Dassett Country Park. Oliver and his Hillman Imp, Ollie the Imp, dropped just twelve points all day and was very pleased to continue his winning streak at the venue. Pollitt's drive in his standard Citroen Saxo VTR was masterful dropping just one point more on the hills than Duncan Stephens in his modified Vauxhall Nova, who beat John Moffatt after a daylong battle in the front wheel drive class. Barrie Parker's championship winning MR2 was crushed by Pollitt, who dropped nearly half his score on the hills. Trevor Clarke won the novice award driving his new car class Ford Ka.
