Matthews Auto Salvage Trial
Event Report
Past multiple champion Dave Oliver was ecstatic to win the Matthews Auto Salvage car trial on the Isle of Anglesey, as it was his first win in front wheel drive – having won his championships in faithful Ollie the Imp. Oliver clipped a post early on but a stunning afternoon secured the trial, during a rain shower. Henry Kitching had an equally brilliant day in the new car class to win by a huge margin and take second overall, twenty five points clear of a close battle between Gareth Williams, diesel 106, Sion Matthews' Corsa and Nick Pollitt's Saxo. Barrie Parker debuted the ex Malcolm Brown Westfield and won the rear wheel drive class. Endaf Davies won the highly modified class in his rally prepared Fiesta and took third overall.
