On Sunday 19th October is the premier car trial of the year, the BTRDA Grand Final. This is an invitation only event normally for registered contenders who have qualified.
Following BTRDA Drive's participation in two qualifying rounds this year Motorsports Future (MSF) have been invited by the Car Trial committee to participate in the event with one of the Drive winners. MSF have selected Julian Archard to take up this place following the talent he has shown in the two trials. Julian and John have been very closely matched in all the events they have competed in this year but Julian has beaten John in both trials.
The event is been run by Kidderminster Car Club at their site near Heightington, where Julian first experienced car trialling in June. On this event Julian was passengered and trained by Nick Pollitt who at the time was very impressed by Julian's ability to adapt to the sport and learn by his mistakes. The second trial Julian and John attended (the Ernest Owen) last weekend Julian won the Novice award which is extremely commendable on only his second trial.
Julian will be using the Drive Micra which has been ultra competitive in the past, and with Julian showing it still is at the Owen trial last weekend.
