Colstons, near Penrith
Richard Sharp continued to dominate sporting trials by winning the Raymond Baxter, his third trial in the last four by a single point on a very tight scoring day. Just six points separated the top ten overall with Sharp beating Ian Veale and Bill Rhodes who were point behind. Despite high tyre pressures the car abilities were proving too great and mistakes costly. Bryan Walker had the best second half going clean to climb up to fourth overall beating birthday boy George Watson on a tiebreak.Mike Readings won the top independent blue class in eleventh, from John Cole.Meanwhile Mike Salton won top red live axle in twelfth from reigning champion Josh Veale.
With two overall wins Richard Sharp, and son Joe won the Hepplewhite trophy for best aggregate score over the two trials of the weekend, the Jiggers Jug and Raymond Baxter, having dropped just nine points and seven points clear of Bryan Walker with Ian Veale third.
