MSA, Reis BTRDA

22 starters

Richard Sharp won the JB Taylor at its new venue at Sywell, Northamptonshire in extremely dry conditions.

The venue offered lots of very steep short slopes challenging the twenty two crews. At lunch Sharp tied with Stuart Beare who was again in his old live axle Sherpa with George Watson two points back. Watson dropped back to seventh with a costly eleven on the last round, while Beare struggled on one hill twice to hand Sharp the win.

Sharp becomes the fifth different winner in the first six rounds of the Reis BTRDA / MSA Championship. Beare ended up second overall and best red class live axle driver. Julian Fack, Peter Fensom and Paul Price all matched Sharp’s afternoon three points and finished third onwards. Andrew Woodhead borrowed Martin Grimwood’s Crossle to finish sixth, with Grimwood eighth and best clubman. David Hailes finished in ninth and best blue class live axle beating MSA Championship leader Andy Wilks.

Meanwhile Pat Henson finished top blue class independent, and Phil Blagden top rookie in seventeenth.
