We have been made aware that our planned final qualifying event in the Car Trials Championship Calendar, the Gaby Mohr Memorial Trial scheduled for 9 September, can no longer take place due to matters beyond the organisers control. The Car Trials Committee recognise that the loss of this event may well deny some contenders entry to our Grand Final Trial and as a consequence we have exercised our discretion to vary the qualifying criteria as follows:
Championship Rule 1.5 – the minimum number of starts reduces from five to four;
Championship Rule 4.4 – scoring will be on the best five (not six) qualifying events;
Championship Rule 4.6.2 – the lowest four (not five) scores from the qualifying events.
We hope that this will now allow some compromised contenders to enter the Grand Final Trial in due course. On the flip side, we hope that contenders who have chased at least six event starts for scoring purposes will understand the position now facing us.
