Gaby Mohr Trial

Event Report

Henry Kitching won his second major victory of the year after a day-long tussle with Nick Pollitt in the Non-ballasted Class One. They were so far clear of their opposition that they finished first and second overall. The ballasted Class Two came down to who made the fewest mistakes, with the top four all throwing away marks among some very good climbs on the initially damp long grass. Eventually, newcomer Philip Buckle drove his Saxo to top spot. The battle of the day was in Class Three with some incredibly low scores for the three old masters. Steve Courts triumphed again over Dave Oliver – but only by the narrowest of margins, taking a tie-break with 26 cleans to 25. Barrie Parker ran them very close.
