The lunchtime scoreboard saw several changes at the top. Whilst Richard Pinkney was now 10 seconds ahead of John Moffatt, Malcolm Livingston was just 1 second behind, with Dave Evans (Blitz Special 2000) a further 3 seconds back, Dave Mosey having incurred two 5 second penalties with brake problems. Chris Chapman (RAW Striker 1700) was now in 5th place just 1 second behind Evans. Warren Gillespie (Nova 1600) was leading the saloon car class from Mark Thornton (Nova 1600), early leader Tom Coverdale (Nova 1800) having collected a maximum penalty on an earlier test.

The 6 afternoon tests saw Warren Gillespie consolidate his lead over Mark Thornton when Thornton collected 2 penalties. The sports car class changed dramatically when Moffatt’s Westfield suffered ignition failure in round 4, and Richard Pinkney’s Caterham broke a steering arm on the very last test, both resulting in maximum penalties. Pinkney retained the class win, but Chris Chapman just took second place by 2 seconds from Moffatt. The specials class also changed when Mosey collected another penalty, and the usually immaculate Livingston collected a penalty on the last test, leaving Dave Evans to take the class win and outright victory in the event.
