Warwickshire Drivers AutoSOLO
Event Report
Mike Biss and Duncan Stephens continue titanic battle from last year. Graeme Jones excells though in the BTRDA DRIVE Micra to finish third overall in his first Solo….
Mike Biss and Duncan Stephens were very closely match during the Warwickshire Drivers AutoSolo this year. Last year Mike won by 12 seconds, this year by just five.
Graeme Jones drove superbly on his autosolo debut in the BTRDA/MN Micra to beat reigning BTRDA Autosolo champion Jamie Yapp into third. Graeme's Ambulance, StuntDriveUK training and obvious natural ability impressing everyone.
Chris Cockrell lost the 1400-1800cc engined class on the last test through a penalty to Sam Williams by less than a second. Sam had forgotten to remove the spare wheel in the morning and had to change tyres midway too, but a very determined afternoon drive saw him gradually taking tenths out of Chris.
David Bennett won the large engined class in his BMW 2002 with Mike Biss winning but showed lots of sideways power slides!!
Sixteen year old Sophie Bennett won the ladies award also driving the BTRDA DRIVE Micra finishing an excellent eleventh overall.
Owen Motoring Club's Will Barnes was out in a recently acquired Abarth Panda and was busy working out when to switch it to "sport" mode and get and extra 20bhp on test, whilst carrying a camera on the roof too….video's can be seen at
